Forthcoming in October 2026 ~ This Shore of Light: a novel

“A tender exploration of faith, family, betrayal, and loss, This Shore of Light is a story about the courage it takes to love when you’ve been hurt, and the grace that waits on the other side.”

—Sandy Cooper, award-winning author and co-host of Writing Off Social

In the Pacific Northwest town of Port Lawrence, Molly McIntyre spends her evenings and weekends caring for her beloved grandmother—except when she volunteers at the local theater. Though Molly loves the magic of a good play, she doesn’t trust actors. They’re too good at what they do.

Tristan Stuart always wanted to be a movie star, a dream he set aside when he moved home to care for his mother. She longs for her other son, whom she hasn’t seen in years, to come home, too. Tristan’s father wants no such thing; he hopes his second son will stay gone forever.

Now, after months away from the hustle of Hollywood, Tristan’s lifelong dream has turned to dust, and he has no idea what to do—until he meets Molly.

As Tristan presses forward into a new life, Molly retreats in fear. Then, just as their relationship begins to blossom, Tristan’s past collides with his present, shattering Molly’s fragile faith in him and forcing their families to confront a heartbreaking truth.

Immerse yourself in This Shore of Light, a story of quiet transformation, where love, faith, and family guide each character toward a brighter shore.

Advance Praise for This Shore of Light

At its heart, This Shore of Light is a love story, but it’s also so much more. A tender exploration of faith, family, betrayal, and loss, this is a story about the courage it takes to love when you’ve been hurt, and the grace that waits on the other side. I found myself completely at home in these pages.

K.C. Ireton’s This Shore of Light presents an endearing cast of characters (plus a car named Nancy Drew) each hoping for a little happiness in the shadow of heartache. The truth they find is hard-won, and distinctly human—that even life’s sorrows can be a grace, if you let them.
