Hi friends,
Since Tuesday (August 6) was the Feast of the Transfiguration, Christine Sine has been kind enough to publish part of the transfiguration essay from my book. If you’ve been hanging out here any length of time, or if you’ve read the book, you’ve read this piece. I keep recycling it, partly because it’s one of my favorite topics (mystery and glory and beauty) and partly because it was the first piece of mine to ever be published in a professional journal (Weavings). For both reasons it’s dear to my heart.
Which is no reason to publish it ad nauseum. But I can’t seem to help myself. If you’re not sick of it yet, head on over to Godspace to read about Emily Starr, the flash, and waking to mystery.
Whether you have an encounter with mystery this Transfiguration weekend or not, I pray you have a few moments of stillness to behold and soak in something beautiful.
Warmly,
Kimberlee
Kimberlee, I’m reading this late and just pulled out my copy of your book, with my marker on the page that talks about this feast…I forgot to read it, but looking back I can tell you God was there with mystery and beauty both. Now I’m off to read the entire piece….
Jody, it was so good to see you today. Thank you for your enthusiasm and encouragement about my book–this one and the new one 🙂
